Amateurs Strategy for Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in an excellent game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the croupier, not like nearly all other poker games that players wager with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players do not need to worry about any other, more advanced people taking their moolla.

Another Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game pace, beginners are able to take their time and plan without needing to make quick choices.

It’s also easier to wager on for an extended time with just a small amount of cash since, to not win, both of your hands needs to be under both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the house gets seven cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
