Double-hand Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the wild west in an excellent game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, unlike most other poker games that players compete with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players don’t need to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable people winning their cash.
An additional Pai Gow benefit is the generally slow game pace, novices should be able to take their time and plan while not having to make frenzied decisions.
It’s also simpler to bet on for an extended time with basically a small amount of cash since, to lose, both of your hands needs to be under each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the casino is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand have to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
