Annie Duke may not have captured her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but Annie remains one of the most powerful poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker run wild after a huge win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mum" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire and grew up in a family of poker players. If you don’t accept that, observe her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, Howard taught Annie the correct way to play the game.
However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has earned her cut of challenging matches, including knocking out Howard a few times on numerous occasions.
Winning over $3 million in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to develop his skills and become a force in poker.
You might just encounter Annie at the Bellagio, you’ll catch her on the television and you might even play against her in a web poker match, but don’t count on an easy win. Unless you are a rising star, you will not beat her. However, it is likely to be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
